At TDS we are always looking for new drivers to join our dedicated team of drivers.

We have the following requirements for recruits:
​
The driver must have a valid SA code 14 driver's licence.
We require our drivers to be able to a superlink, that is, a combination of a 6m and 12m trailer respectively.
Local drivers preferably.
Minimum 3 years driving experience.
Driver Recruitment Procedure
TDS uses 3 driver job advertising processes and these are:
Word of mouth to head-hunted incumbents.
Media advertisement.
Reference by other companies.
All incumbents will thereafter follow the process as explained below

RECEIVE DRIVER APPLICATION: drivers submit their CV with the cover letter explaining the job they are applying for.
CAPTURE INTO DATABASE: the administration clerk will register all applicants in the application file. If the driver is already on database, the new information on his/her profile will be updated
BLACKLIST UPDATE: The administration clerk will check all applicants against the “Black-book “ (drivers blacklisted for previous unacceptable behaviour). All drivers appearing in the Black-book are eliminated at this stage.
DRIVER DUE DILLIGENCE CHECK: All applicants are checked for criminal records, validity of their driver’s licenses and PRDP.
PRACTICAL TEST: The applicants are then Invited for driving sample testing
DRIVER ASSESSMENT: Each applicant is assessed on driving merits and previous employment records
SPECIFIC FIT: Drivers are then assessed according to their skills in relevance with customer requirements before they are hired. The appointment letter is sent to the driver for his/her sanction.
The drivers are finally hired and be inducted into understanding their contracts, company disciplinary code and grievance procedure as well as the company fringe benefits.
